Casting is the most important part of a successful murder mystery game. We share the responsibility with YOU, the participants, to cast yourself into a part that resonates, excites, and intrigues you. We’ve organized characters based on gender (female, male, and neutral options), but don’t let that stop you from picking your favourite. Gender bending encouraged!
Females
-
Dating the Quarterback, Dusty Rodes, and head Honey Crisp, Tiff is easily the most popular girl at Slasher High, and the most likely to torment anyone in her path. She's totally wigged out to outlive her best friend - our dearly departed Diana Davis - but she can always make it all about herself.
-
A boy crazy betty, Brandy's bodacious beauty is second only to her ability to manipulate. She wholeheartedly believes she should be the leader of the Honey Crisps, but begrudgingly serves her Queen Bee, Tiffany. Besties of Miranda Ringwald
-
Athletically motivated and spoiled by a wealthy mother, Miranda's got everything a girl could ever need, except the one thing she desperately wants: the glittering crown and status of Prom Queen. Fiercely loyal to second in command HC, Brandy Von Cleaver.
-
By far the best dressed fashionista at Slasher High, Heather’s known for her icy demeanor and big time diva attitude. Cousin to super geek Edwin Habertzberg, Heather is desperate to keep their connection to one another on the down low.
-
Simple-minded and sweet, Crystal is easy-going and easily influenced by her high-status pals, and anyone who can jive with her immense love of disco and roller rinks. Bestie and main confidant of Miranda Ringwald.
-
Sweet, naive and admittedly a goody-two-shoes, Eileen’s explosive love of theatre shines through anytime she takes center stage in any Slasher High musical. Fully unabashed in the spotlight, Eileen is much more reserved in the halls of Slasher High, coming across as shy and introverted. Although Sonny’s sudden interest in her surprised no one; Eileen is one of the most beautiful girls in school, even if she isn’t aware of it.
-
Eerie and complicated, Lee has an immense love of the macabre and a sense of dark, morbid fashion that rivals even that of glam girl Heather Habertzberg. Much less petulant than her Gothic counterpart, Brendan, Lee is philosophical and non-judgmental, which makes her well-liked among all her peers - popular and otherwise.
-
Dolled up, deadly fine and recently divorced, Barb’s eager to volunteer when her young daughter Eileen is invited by suave senior Sonny, to Slasher High’s prom. She’s here to keep an eye on her daughter - but also seems to have eyes for any and all of the other available adults attending tonight’s dance.
Males
-
Big time introvert with a vast and diverse musical talent, Jack’s struggled to fit in at cliquey Slasher High. Most comfortable with anyone he can jam with, he’s hoping that by attending prom, he’ll be able to come out of his shell when he’s not busy getting blazed behind the bleachers.
-
Outgoing, but not overly liked, Dusty’s had a pretty righteous and breezy time at Slasher High. Handsome, athletic but a total space cadet, Dusty cares more about his position as big kahuna than grades, his friends, and getting into college. Poor Dusty is too dense to realize he may have hit his peak in high school.
-
Artistic and thoughtful, Johnny’s been under pressure his whole life to follow in his father’s - Levi Grant - footsteps as a big shot football star. He’s got a gift for the sport, but he’s been secretly nursing a love of dance (specifically ballet) - something he can never tell his teammates - but has him hearing back from several prestigious college applications.
-
Hit a few too many times during particularly brutal games, Mickey’s stay at Slasher High has been prolonged more than he can count - like literally. Often a sore subject, Mickey is quick to anger and ill-tempered about most everything. His intelligence might be low, but his loyalty to his homeboys is never in question.
-
Highly motivated by his libido, Sonny will bend over backwards for a choice babe, or a bodacious Betty. Unconcerned by gossip in his wake, Sonny has run through his share of honeys at Slasher High - evident by his current prom companion, Eileen Warner.
-
Bespectacled, intellectual and trombone aficionado, Edwin is unconcerned or oblivious to his noteworthy status as Slasher High’s biggest Poindexter. Overly confident without much cause, he’s notorious for asking out any fly girl at school, much to their distress. Unfortunately for him, he’s been on Mickey Miller’s radar for years, and has been bullied by the aggressive running back since forever.
-
Apathetic, despondent and a bit of a whiner, Brendan prefers to be called by his chosen name… Abyss Noir. Dedicated to being misunderstood, Brendan spends most of his time at Slasher High either reading poetry, smoking cigarettes with Lee, or hiding in the art room trying to avoid the Jocks. Only at prom, to be ironic, his disdain toward his classmates is well known, as he’s often scoffing and rolling his eyes at the ‘conformists.’
-
Singular-minded and hard as steel, Levi is solely focused on one thing: his son’s blossoming football career. His own opportunity at going pro unrealized because of many mistakes in his reckless youth, Levi is determined to stay on top of his son and keep him from blowing his shot at the big leagues.
-
Dispassionate about anything happening at Slasher High not involving pig skin, Coach Boggs found themselves roped into chaperoning, and is mostly at prom for the food. Generally apathetic to most academics, but otherwise motivated and caring, the coach finds themselves taking the edge off from the hormone-fueled evening the best way they know how - a flask hidden with enough scotch to knock out an elephant.
Neutral
-
New kid on the block, Parker, joined Slasher High halfway through the school year. Captain of the debate club at their old school, they’re opinionated and unafraid to speak their mind to anyone and everyone. Known for standing strong against peer pressure and bullying, Parker is beloved by many of the school’s outcasts.
-
Often seen sleuthing and keeping keen notes on everything and everyone, Jordan finds themself on the hunt for the killer, looking to be the first to write a bitchin’ story for their high school paper that could potentially be used on college applications.
-
Whodunit enthusiast and Agatha Christie super fan, Wren finds any sort of puzzle or mystery absolutely irresistible. Younger cousin of the demised Diana Davis, they’ll stop at nothing to follow any clue and find their prima donna cousin’s killer.
-
The untold eyes and ears of the school, Taylor seems to be around every corner. Stoic yet surprisingly wise, Taylor’s been working at the school for over 15 years; long enough to know every nook and cranny of the school - and it’s many occupants. Taylor’s seen every discarded note, every cryptic graffiti, and has overheard many private conversations between students and teachers alike.
-
Overworked, overzealous and overdramatic, Kelly’s no nonsense by the time Slasher High’s prom rolls around. Known to be self-important, and utter absurd, Kelly’s more bumbling than authoritative, though they were quite respected as an educator in their time.
-
Expressive, emotional and overconfident, Jamie’s obsession with the stage and limelight comes at most inopportune times - as does the dreadful attempts at any accent and disastrous miming. Head sponsor of the Glee club, and advisor of the prom committee, Jamie’s excited to be at their first Slasher High prom - one largely planned and organized by Jamie themself.
